The New York Yankees have made a habit out of suffering gut-wrenching losses this season, and they added another to the tally in the Field of Dreams Game on Thursday.

Thanks to a pair of two-run home runs from Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton, the Yanks stormed back to take an 8-7 lead in the top of the ninth…only to watch Zack Britton walk Seby Zavala and give up a walk-off HR to Tim Anderson just minutes later.

We’re hoping the Yankees used the off day in between games to flush that loss from their memory, but you probably need to taste victory again before that’s possible.

In any event, New York is back on the horse Saturday night vs the White Sox.

Yankees vs White Sox Odds Today

Per the latest odds over at WynnBet, the White Sox are is favored -135 on the money line (bet $135 to win $100), while the Yankees come in at underdogs at +125 (bet $100 to win $125).

If you like to bet the run line, New York is -160 to cover a +1.5 spread, and Chicago is +140 to cover -1.5 (win by two runs or more).  The over/under for the game is set at an even 9.0, so oddsmakers clearly think the two AL teams will put some runs on the board.

Yankees Pitcher Today

Jameson Taillon will take the mound for the Yankees in this one. Very few pitchers have been better than the 29-year-old righty over the last two months. Since his final start in June, Taillon has lowered his ERA from 5.43 to a respectable 3.82. That’ll happen when you allow just six earned runs over your last seven starts, so let’s hope he keeps the momentum rolling.

The White Sox will counter with Dylan Cease, who’s 9-6 with a 3.99 ERA on the year. Since allowing six earned runs in a loss against Minnesota on July 5, the young hurler has bounced back by limiting opposition to no more than three runs in each of his last six starts.

Having said that, Cease is susceptible to the occasional stinker, so the Yankees should have their chances to knock him out and get to Chicago’s bullpen early.

Yankees Starting Lineup

There it is! How are we feeling, Yankees fans?

Yankees vs White Sox Prediction Today

The Yankees are coming off one of the worst defeats of the season. However, we all know momentum in baseball is only as good as tomorrow’s starting pitcher, and something tells us their lineup, as makeshift as it is right now, will put together a winnable performance.

On the other side, expect Taillon to turn in another quality start. Yanks win, 6-3.
