The New York Yankees did it. They scored a season-high 13 runs and blew out the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night, allowing fans to relax from the jump. Wasn’t that nice?

Luis Gil and two other pitchers (Stephen Ridings and Brody Koerner) made their MLB debuts and held the O’s to one run on seven hits. Can we do that again on Wednesday, please?

The offense exploded, with seven hitters registering RBIs as well as Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge going deep … even though the team had a six-run lead or more when those homers came. We’ll still take it.

Now, on Wednesday, the Bombers will go for a series victory before welcoming the Mariners for a four-game set in the Bronx. Simply put, it needs to happen.

Yankees vs Orioles Odds Today

Once again, the Yankees are heavy favorites. The largest figure of the week, in fact. They come in at -300 on the moneyline (bet $300 to win $100) while the O’s are +240 (bet $100 to win $240). The run line today is a hefty -2.5 for the Bombers and that’s at +104 (bet $100 to win $104) while you can get Baltimore +2.5 for -125 (bet $125 to win $100).

Not interested in those prices? We don’t blame you. Maybe check out the over/under, which sits at 9.5 right now. Taking the over will net you even money (+100, bet $100 to win $100) while the under at -120 (bet $120 to win $100) will cost you a bit more.

Hey, if you trust the Yanks’ offense to roll it over again, maybe parlay the run line with the over! Could be fun.

Yankees Pitcher Today

Nestor Cortes Jr., who was originally schedule to pitch Tuesday, will now go on Thursday against the Mariners. Wednesday night will feature Jameson Taillon (7-4, 4.11 ERA), who just won AL Pitcher of the Month for July, and Matt Harvey (6-10, 6.20 ERA), who is riding a scoreless streak of 18.1 innings over his last three outings, all of which have been wins for the O’s.

Taillon’s first start of the season came against Baltimore, which ended up being a loss in extras for the Yanks, but the right-hander has given up just four runs in his last five starts. It’s a bad time for the Orioles to be running into him, especially after he handled much more potent offenses such as the Mariners, Astros and Red Sox over that stretch.

Yankees vs Orioles Prediction Today

Another barrage of runs should be expected, even though the Yankees’ offense has been wildly inconsistent. It’s just hard to believe Harvey will continue this run of form given how bad he’s been for most of the season.

If there’s one pitcher New York has been able to rely on, it’s Taillon, which bodes well for tonight’s rubber match ahead of an all-important series against Seattle, who is edging the Yankees in the Wild Card race. The tides need to turn, and they need to turn now.

Yankees win, 10-3.
