Even following their embarrassing shutout loss against the Rays on Thursday, Yankees fans have been living on cloud nine. After all, the trade deadline has been very generous to New York, as the club acquired Joey Gallo and Anthony Rizzo, two seemingly perfect fits on paper.

The Yankees’ win over Miami on Friday night did wonders to rid fans’ memories of the Rays debacle — Anthony Rizzo homered in his first game and Giancarlo Stanton finally played the outfield! — and they’ll look to make it two in a row over the Marlins on Saturday.

Yankees vs Marlins Odds Today

Regardless of how Friday night’s game unfolded, the Yankees were never going to be underdogs against the sell-happy Marlins. That’s precisely the case, as New York is favored -165 on the money line (bet $165 to win $100), while Miami comes in at +152 ($152 to win $100).

You can also get New York at -105 to cover the -1.5 run line. The Marlins come in at a fairly surprising -115 to cover +1.5. The over/under for Saturday is set at 7.5 Assuming the Yanks’ offense finally wakes up, we’d hammer the over in that instance.

Yankees vs Marlins Pitching Matchup

The Yankees will send Domingo German (4-5, 4.45 ERA) to the mound on Saturday. German was lights out in his last start against the Red Sox on Sunday, taking a no-hitter into the eighth inning before he was pulled after giving up a leadoff double.

What transpired after that was a nightmare for Yankees fans, who will remember the combination of Jonathan Loaisiga and Zack Britton (mostly Loaisiga) blowing the club’s 4-0 advantage in a matter of minutes before ultimately losing a 5-4 heartbreaker.

The Marlins haven’t officially announced their starter yet, but it’s widely expected that they’ll activate Trevor Rogers ( 8-8, 3.15 ERA) from the injured list to start. The young lefty has been excellent for Miami this year, allowing three or fewer runs in 18 of his 19 starts.

Yankees Starting Lineup

The Yankees always wait until the last minute to drop their lineup. Check back in a little bit, but let’s hope it looks something like the card we saw on Friday night.

Yankees vs Marlins prediction Today

We doubted German the last time he toe’d the rubber for the Yankees. We won’t make that mistake again. While Rogers could give New York’s lineup some fits, he hasn’t started in nearly two weeks, so the new-look Bombers should string some runs together.

Yankees win 6-3, with most of their runs coming vs the Marlins’ bullpen.
