The New York Yankees are attempting to…we know, crazy…actually sweep the Seattle Mariners on the road Thursday afternoon after winning a game started by Nick Nelson, named an emergency starter in Domingo German’s place after a root canal.

Normal stuff. Chad Green closed instead of Aroldis Chapman. German pitched several innings in the middle of the game anyway. Luis Cessa saved the day? Whatever. We won’t argue. Win’s a win.

Before the Yankees head to Houston and then into the All-Star break, they’ve got another contest in Seattle, and the scrappy Mariners have zero interest in getting blanked in this series.
