Luke Voit would bet DJ LeMahieu is set to return to the Yankees.

New York Yankees fans love Luke Voit, so when he drops any commentary about the team, free agency, trades, whatever, everybody tunes in to hear it and piggyback his sentiment.

So when the slugger has something to say about DJ LeMahieu, you bet that’s going to make offseason headlines. However, we can only hope Voit’s optimism this time around comes to fruition, because his ALDS Game 5 guarantee against the Rays a couple months back didn’t exactly pan out.

Whatever the case, we’ll stay positive, because like Voit, we want DJ to be in pinstripes for the rest of his career. It doesn’t matter what it takes. Seeing him walk and go somewhere else would be nothing short of demoralizing.

Since Voit isn’t a gambling man, we can assure him that the famous philosophy is that you’re always only one bet away. Throw the ALDS Game 5 guarantee out the window if DJLM returns to the Bombers. You’ll be riding high with that win!

Of course Voit wants his fellow MLB-leading partner to return to the Yanks. In 2020, DJLM captured the batting title and Voit led the league in home runs, which easily made the both of them the team’s best offensive players. Plus, we’re sure DJ is a pleasure to play alongside in the infield. Voit at first and DJ at second are vibes that need to be maintained.

This isn’t anything new from Voit, either. He said earlier in the offseason that his “gut” was telling him LeMahieu was going to remain a Yankee.

Voit’s on a roll and feeling good after he recently announced he has a baby on board. Let the man speak this into existence.

But the Yankees’ first baseman is hardly the first person to push this narrative. Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner, general manager Brian Cashman and manager Aaron Boone all had incredible things to say about LeMahieu shortly after the season ended. Oh yeah, and DJ’s using Aaron Judge’s bat this offseason for some reason, which he revealed to us in his first Instagram post since before the 2020 season began.

We like our chances here, but we really need closure.
