New York Yankees slugger Luke Voit teed off on a golf ball this weekend, even using his signature hop.

No fan wants to see their team switch gears to golfing too soon into an offseason, but even the most disappointed Yankees rooters have to admit Luke Voit can crush a golf ball with spectacular exit velocity.

Voit shrugged off the trade rumors (which exist solely in the minds of columnists who are desperate for action) on the green this weekend, and was so proud of this particular tee shot that he posted it on his Instagram for all to see.

The caption? “375 right down Broadway!”

We’re used to that qualifying as a long fly out to dead center at Yankee Stadium, but luckily, we’re talkin’ yards here.

And yes, you can see a hint of Voit’s home run hop at the tail end of the video, can’t you? His legs move a little bit, almost like he’s resisting the urge to full Oppo Taco in the middle of the quiet tee box.

Voit’s no Mike Trout at TopGolf, but it turns out there’s definitely a certain level of power that the Yankees slugger brings to all endeavors.

Naturally, his boys showed up in the comments (I mean, posting your own tee shot is a little self-serving). Voit got roasted by St. Louis Blues Stanley Cup champ Pat Maroon, and got some props from fellow Yankees star Aaron Hicks, who’s been known to hit the links a time or two.

Fellas, there’s room in the comments for everyone!

Though he didn’t get the respect he deserved from the mainstream MLB media, Voit had a season to remember in 2020, and probably should’ve been your fourth-place MVP finisher in a just world. He carried the Yankees physically and emotionally for long stretches, hitting an obscene 22 home runs during a 60-game slate (56 played) while battling “foot stuff” almost the entire time.

Foot looks pretty strong here, though. That bodes well for 2021 for sure.
