The Yankees hit five home runs in the fourth inning Thursday in what WAS a tie game. Mercy.

The New York Yankees, in the fourth inning of Thursday night’s game, essentially turned into an overwhelmed teen behind the counter of an ice cream scoop shop, doling out all the different varieties for free.

You want to see a wall-scraping home run? Sure, DJ LeMahieu’s got you. What about a Luke Nuke? Yeah, we’ve got that one, too, with a little extra sprinkle on it.

All in all, a 2-2 game became 9-2 in a blink, when an MLB record-tying five home runs, each of a different color, were drilled in the inning off Blue Jays starter Chase Anderson.

Brett Gardner, DJ LeMahieu, and Luke Voit went back-to-back-to-back following a Gary Sanchez laser RBI double. Aaron Hicks made an out (shame!). Then, Giancarlo Stanton and Gleyber Torres went deep.

After Gardy, LeMahieu hit a true Yankee Stadium Special, but it counts the same … no, seriously. It actually counts the same as the Stanton obliteration that came after it.

It’s in the rules!

After that one scratched its way over the right-field fence, Luke Voit extended his MLB lead with No. 20 on the year.

Hey, that’s the same as the number of runs the Yankees scored on Tuesday!

Very importantly, though, the Stanton homer that followed was as impressive as any he’s ever hit. Just … look at those fielders stare.

Stare, fielders, stare.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a home run barrage without Gleyber Torres being involved. Recently out for three games while he nursed a calf issue, Torres reached the bleachers in left field with aplomb, the first of the five blasts to hit that territory.

All in all, a solid half inning. Would watch it again, if given the chance.

Luckily, these past few games have all felt like rerun Yankees offensive performances, so it’s been a combination of whiplash and deja vu so far.

Just keep it up. Just keep doing what you’re doing. Don’t think, just do. Bring it to Boston and Buffalo, then bring it to the Bubble.

No matter how many times something like this happens, we’re still going to be blown away. Now let’s invite Kyle Higashioka to this party too, maybe?
