Yankees pitcher Clarke Schmidt posted on Instagram for the first time in three weeks.

What’s it gonna be, Yankees? The entire roster is once again decimated by injuries and there’s a glaring need for another impact pitcher after the losses of Tommy Kahnle, Zack Britton, Luis Avilan and James Paxton.

New York has a few notable guys they could easily call up, but it seems to be a little bit more complicated than everyone thinks (or is it?). Top prospect Clarke Schmidt is clearly ready to handle MLB action, but manager Aaron Boone commented on Saturday and said “it’s complicated” because the right-hander isn’t on the roster right now.

It seems Schmidt has heard that loud and clear, and decided to post on Instagram … for the first time in three weeks! He’s feeling some sort of something.

What will be, will indeed be. But seriously, what’s going on, Yankees?

Schmidt blew fans away during summer camp when he mowed down the Yankees’ top sluggers, leaving many wondering if the former 2017 first-round pick was ready to slot in as the team’s fifth starter given the uncertainly surrounding the back end of the rotation.

But that wasn’t the case, and Michael King, who also performed admirably, got the call. Now, the Yankees are facing a serious shortage of arms with the end of August already here and it appears Schmidt will remain at the Alternate Site, especially after the Yankees went out and acquired Phillies pitcher Addison Russ via trade on Friday.

The Yankees still have yet to announce a corresponding roster move since the Subway Series against the Mets was postponed. They won’t take the field again until Tuesday when they head to Atlanta for a two-game set against the Braves.

So there’s still time, and we’re hoping things can sway in Schmidt’s favor. As for the 24-year-old, he’s clearly ready for whatever happens.
