Buffalo Wild Wings has something special cooked up for Yankees-Nationals Opening Day.

When the New York Yankees take on the Washington Nationals on Thursday night in D.C. (weather pending!), it will be a much-needed relief for the fans at home, but plenty will feel different about the clash.

The stands will be barren, and while we understand why they need to be, that’ll still eliminate some pretty important people from the picture — like our beloved beer vendors.

Well, never fear. Buffalo Wild Wings found a new gig for them.

BWW is bringing your favorite local vendors to their location in Washington for the big night, and they have plenty more planned in the coming weeks, too.

As Buffalo Wild Wings told us, “On Thursday night, legendary purveyors of beer Perry Hahn aka ‘RoboVendor,’ Clarence Haskett aka ‘Fancy Clancy’ and Todd Georgelas will be serving them up at a BWW in D.C. Hahn, a mechanical engineer turned beer vendor, is best known for his unique contraption for speedily opening and pouring beers.”

‘Fancy Clancy’ himself will be driving down to D.C. from his home in Baltimore, just to recreate the ballpark atmosphere a few steps away from the stadium.

Additionally, BWW will be bringing Washington Nationals organist Matthew Van Hoose in to tickle the ivories, and will be serving wings in little helmets, just the way Abner Doubleday intended it.

If you’re not from the area and don’t care for the Nationals and Yankees, don’t fret.

BWW will also be holding events at sports bars around the country featuring other famed slingers of hops, including Les Flake aka “The Beer Guy” (Cleveland) and Rocco Caputo (Chicago, North Side).

This may be an unconventional Opening Day in every way imaginable (it’s July, nobody’s there, and the Nationals are World Champions?!), but at least Buffalo Wild Wings is allowing us to feel some semblance of normalcy, by giving us the chance to catch an ice cold beer hucked at 30 miles per hour by one of baseball’s best.
