The Yankees are dropping their 2020 commercials at the perfect time — this one stars Gleyber Torres!

The New York Yankees are a full go for the 2020 season, and they’re making up for lost time by releasing some of the commercials they’d prepped during Spring Training.

The latest iteration features Gleyber Torres trying out an all-new level of personalized branding, handing out Gleyber of the Month calendars to all his Yankees teammates.

Though the distinct lack of social distancing makes this a weirdly uncomfortable rewatch — looking at you scooching towards Luke Voit, Gleybs — it’s still adorable, and shows why we love the 23-year-old (who’s still somehow only 23, which is his age!).

Yankees star Gleyber Torres appeared in a great 2020 commercial.

Shoutout to Hal Steinbrenner for his delivery of the ultimate punchline, “Huh, nice.” Yankees, if you need me to write these, I will. Maybe Hal stares at the calendar in silence, and deadpans, “Why is this a 2013 calendar, Gleyber?”

I don’t know. I’ve got more.

Whether Torres pushing his calendars on an annoyed Zack Britton, a creeped-out Voit, an amenable Gio Urshela, and a nonchalant Steinbrenner was the best use of his talents, we’re not sure. Bottom line, the fans found it cute, and that’s good enough for us.

Of course, we’d rather see Torres doing what he does best in the months of August and September, rather than stressing over calendar poses.

The kid usually heats up when the humidity rises — after all, who can forget his statement granny against Eduardo Rodriguez that set the Yankees up to sweep Boston in 2019?

If and when action resumes in 2020, we’re expecting huge things — and possibly even a sprint to an MVP — from this 23-year-old leader.

And yes, we’ll buy a calendar. We’ll buy 20. You’ve convinced us.

Hopefully, the Yankees have enough of these commercials that they can run a different one daily. Maybe some deranged Tommy Kahnle b-roll? We could really use it.
