Houston Astros slugger Alex Bregman just made his offseason even worse.

The Houston Astros are unquestionably the most hated team in Major League Baseball — and quite possibly in all of sports — at the moment. Somehow, they lucked out with the COVID-19 pandemic because fans won’t be able to mercilessly boo them throughout the 2020 season, which will feature empty stadiums and only 60 games.

We’ll have to wait until 2021, New York Yankees fans. Yes, it’s a sad state of affairs, but New York will welcome Houston to the Bronx in early May of next season, so start getting your hands on some tickets.

On top of that, star slugger Alex Bregman did himself no favors by going completely bald this season, and we’re sure Yankees fans will have a field day ripping him for it.

He may look completely different, but he can’t hide! What’s the point of this? Bregman is 26 years old and is sporting a look he’ll be able to once he hits his 60s. You could’ve saved this for your latter years, bud. Any reason you care to look like a skinhead punk rocker from the 1970s?

The insults in the comment section are pretty great (aside from the very obvious in appropriate ones that hit below the belt), though we think every Yankees fan can appreciate this one:

Many would agree this is far from the right time or way for Bregman to bring attention to himself. With the 2020 MLB season finally starting to gear up as we near Opening Day on July 23, fans will be looking for every excuse to bury the Astros and the man who stood front and center while offering an insincere and smug apology for his role in the team’s cheating scandal.

Luckily for Bregman, his hair will at least grow back by next May 4 when he’s forced to come to the Bronx and play in front of a stadium full of furious New Yorkers.
