Yankees: Aaron Judge and NYY Teammates Land in NYC to Resume Season
Aaron Judge, Tyler Wade, Mike Ford, and a Yankees dog have landed in NYC.
It may still be quite a while before the best fans in baseball get a chance to watch their New York Yankees in person, but we’ve moved one step closer to the good stuff on Saturday.
If you’re a regular troller of Tyler Wade’s Instagram (and who isn’t?!), you immediately flagged the picture carousel he posted on Saturday.
The first photo is just Wade, a plane, and a ridiculous outfit (really, Tyler?), but the second photo features the good stuff: Aaron Judge and his newborn fro, as well as Mike Ford and his good baseball dog, taking the ride back to NYC in order to get this thing started.
HIT! THAT! MUSIC!
Simple caption. Simple Geotag. Very emotional, overall.
If all goes according to plan, these three, along with the rest of the 30-man roster, will have to fly to Washington, DC to take on Max Scherzer and the Nationals in the season opener. That schedule is pending some last-minute adjustments by the league and by individual teams, but having a power-packed opener matchup is certainly what MLB would prefer.
This is the latest great sign for Aaron Judge’s season, which was certainly shrouded in more doubt a few weeks ago. At the end of May, he still hadn’t started taking hacks, according to hitting coach Marcus Thames. Now, he’s reportedly going 100%, and clearly intends to resume training with his teammates July 1 in the big city.
Happy to answer your other important questions here too, though: Mike Ford’s dog is named Carter. He’s a 1.5-year-old Golden, and his parents brought him to camp with the Yankees earlier in the year, too. Seems like he was ready for a second chance to impress the top brass in time for the summer.

Best of luck to Carter — this could be the year he cops the Golden Glove.
I’ll show myself out and head over to the trash pile where T-Wade keeps his plane ‘fits.
