Yankees news: Tommy Kahnle stuck in middle of the pack in The Show Players League
Almost to the halfway point of the MLB The Show Players League and some clear favorites have started to emerge. Tommy Kahnle, representing the New York Yankees, is not among them as he remains stuck in the middle of the pack.
Joey Gallo (Texas, 11-1) and Blake Snell (Tampa Bay, 13-3) stand at the top of the standings. Gavin Lux (Los Angeles), Fernando Tatis Jr. (San Diego), Bo Bichette (Toronto), and Dwight Smith Jr. (Baltimore) all sit just behind them at 9-3.
One representative from each of MLB’s 30 teams is taking part in the tournament, with the top eight advancing to the playoffs.
Kahnle’s Yankees are 7-5 through Friday’s games. Stats and standings are being tracked on MLB.com. Aaron Hicks leads the offense with seven home runs and 13 RBI.
MLB.com’s Juan Toribio had the Yankees 21st on his initial power rankings, published prior to Friday’s games (during which Kahnle went 4-0).
