On Saturday, Jose Altuve doubled down on his suspected involvement in the Astros’ sign-stealing scandal, guaranteeing a trip to the World Series in 2020. Former Yankees pitcher C.C Sabathia responded with a hilarious meme and an even better caption.

C.C. Sabathia may have retired as a player, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t still the warrior Yankees fans came to love during 11 seasons in the Bronx.

Regarding the Astros’ 2017 sign-stealing scandal, and potential new evidence that the scheme may have continued into this past postseason, Sabathia has been one of the most vocally critical people within the game.

So when Astros second baseman Jose Altuve spoke to the media for the first time on Saturday at the team’s annual fanfest, anything provocative from the former AL MVP was sure to draw fire from Sabathia.

Low and behold, Altuve said that while he understands people won’t believe him — that the Astros will return to the World Series this coming season.

Sabathia quickly hopped on Instagram and posted a photo of Altuve walking up to the batter’s box at Minute Maid Park. However, standing in between Altuve and the dish is a large metal detector.

Taking it a step further, was Sabathia’s caption, that stated: Guarantee* (with three laughing emojis). Less than 24 hours since being posted, the meme has gained 98.2k likes and close to 6k comments.

As a member of Yankees teams that were cheated by the Astros in 2017 and Red Sox in 2018, Sabathia is holding a significant grudge.

Stating many times over, that the reason he returned last season was because he legitimately felt the Yankees could win a championship, should any further allegations prove true about the 2019 ALCS, Sabathia’s wrath will only grow in its intensity.

Recently hired as a special assistant to general manager Brian Cashman, Sabathia will need to tread carefully since he is still an employee of an MLB club. Unless, of course, the commissioner’s office continues to turn a blind eye — and why stop now, following the light Astros’ punishment.

On Episode 72 of Sabathia’s podcast, R2C2, co-hosted by Ryan Ruocco, Sabathia tore into the Astros.

"(Bleeping) ’17, we should have won the World Series,” Sabathia said. “I don’t care what nobody says. We should have won the World Series. And now that this happened, nobody can ever (bleeping) tell me that we weren’t going to win it. We should have won. There’s no way that you can tell me that we weren’t better than them. I don’t give a (bleep) what nobody says. I (bleeping) felt that (bleep). I (bleeping) cried like a baby. We all felt that (bleep). So it ain’t no way that you can ever tell me. Forever in my mind now, in ’17, we won the World Series. I don’t give a (bleep) what nobody says. Period. Period. They couldn’t beat us (at home). Bro, the whole (bleep), cuz. The way the whole (bleep) went down, now, looking back at it, (bleep) that.”"
