If you’re planning on heading to London for the Yankees vs. Red Sox series, June 29 and 30 — be prepared to spend a small fortune on tickets.
Should you plan on being a part of baseball history, prepare to pay for it — big time. Prices for the Yankees and Red Sox series in late June at London’s Olympic Stadium will set you back a pretty penny — or pound.
The publicly owned home of West Ham United F.C. (who currently sit in an underwhelming 14th-place in the English Premier League), London Stadium holds a capacity crowd of 66,000.
Having been constructed for the 2012 Summer Olympics, Hammers supporters have often complained that the grounds are too massive for football (soccer) and that the cavern-like setting creates a sterile environment, where cheering for one’s club does little to affect the action down on the field.
According to The Star, preliminary dimensions suggest exciting baseball may be the order of the day, as the long-time AL East rivals should expect a hitter-friendly park.

"The centre-field fence will be an inviting target, just 385 feet from home plate… The wall at London Stadium will be between 12 and 14 feet high between the power alleys… The power alleys will be 375 feet and the foul lines 333 feet with an eight-foot fence running between the alleys and the foul poles."
Looking at the seating map for the series, premium seats ($493), category 1 ($410) and outfield corner tickets ($242-$386) will likely offer the only views worth such an exorbitant price. Seating along the outfield fence will run you around $154.
Tickets in the second deck will range anywhere from $38 to $218. For Yankee and Red Sox season-ticket holders, you’ll get first crack at non-nose bleed seats on Nov. 30. General sales begin Dec. 6.
For those wondering the cost of attending a state-side game between the two storied clubs, tickets for the first two-game series in the Bronx, April 16 & 17 begin at $45 and climb to as much as $550.
Alex Rodriguez was recently in London calling on local fans to purchase their tickets for this unique experience. A-Rod told the London Evening Standard that he believes this is the beginning of a very fruitful relationship between Major League Baseball and the Square Mile.
"“London will be known for MLB for decades to come, particularly by starting with something this big. This will grow and grow… The Brits are so intelligent, they love the history, they love rivalries, they’re synonymous with that — and there’s no two teams in sport with a more historic rivalry. This will be big.”"
