Exciting news for us fans! After weeks and weeks of waiting, Yankees superstar Aaron Judge is back in Tuesday night’s lineup. His power will surely help the team.

The Yankees announced via social media that Aaron Judge is back in Tuesday night’s lineup. Judge will be batting second and playing right field against the Red Sox.

According to Michael Kay, the reason Judge is back for the first of three versus the Red Sox is that rain pushed the game from its original start time of 1 PM to 7 PM. A six-hour delay allowed Judge to take over 30 swings in a simulated contest. He hit one home run into the right-field bleachers — and had several other hits.

Judge has reportedly done a great job in back-to-back simulated games the past two days, and apparently, it was enough to convince Brian Cashman and manager Aaron Boone that he was ready to return.

The return of the reigning AL Rookie of the Year is fantastic news and hopefully, will add some fire to the team for the remaining 13 regular season games.

The Yanks are 91-58 and hold a slim 1.5 game lead over the A’s for the first Wild Card spot. Although he hasn’t taken the field since July 26, Judge is still hitting .278 with 26 home runs and 61 RBIs.

The difficult part is that the Yankees have six games remaining against the Red Sox (103-47) — who just so happen to be one game away from clinching the AL East Division. The Yankees need to win as many games as they can over the next two weeks as home-field advantage is crucial for the Wild Card Game — the one contest that defines all 162.

dark. Next. Yankees: Aaron Judge and Aroldis Chapman could return for Red Sox series

The Yankees are 49-26 at home this year while the Athletics are 46-29 in Oakland, and the Astros are 42-34 in Houston. With six home games left, the Yanks should do their best to win as many of them as possible to secure a slight advantage on October 3.
