Aaron Judge is still on the disabled list, but with the Yankees trying to stay below the $197 million luxury tax threshold, and the Postseason nearing, will they try and obtain Adam Jones from the Orioles?

The Yankees were doing great until the moment Aaron Judge was drilled in the wrist on July 16 in a game against the lowly Royals.

Ever since then, there has been a void in the lineup while the Bombers wait for Judge to heal — and players like Neil Walker and Shane Robinson are platooned in right field.

The Orioles who have been having an awful season and have officially entered rebuilding mode could potentially help the Yanks out in a big way.

Jon Heyman of Fancredsports.com recently reported that Adam Jones has officially cleared waivers, meaning he can be traded to any team in baseball, although Heyman hears from sources that Jones might be more likely to consider an AL East Team.

More from Yankees Rumors

"Sources close to the team suggest though that Jones might be more likely to consider an AL team, where he’d have a chance to DH as well as play the outfield, or perhaps at least a team with a clear need in the outfield."

The Orioles have even touched base with the Yanks to gauge interest on Jones, especially as Judge’s return from the disabled list has been pushed back.

"The Orioles recently approached the Yankees to see if there’s any interest there considering Aaron Judge is out, as is Clint Frazier and Gary Sanchez, diminishing their right-handed strength. However, the Yankees are counting on a return for Judge and the others before too long, and are only a few million dollars below the $197-million luxury tax threshold, money they’d like to keep in case there are any more rotation solutions that crop up."

I feel that the Yankees should try and acquire Jones, the 13-year veteran. With their postseason chances on the line, trading for a Jones, who is hitting .285 with 13 homers and 49 RBIs this season can help push them towards securing a berth in the Wild Card Game.

Unfortunately, I don’t see the Bombers being crowned as the AL East Division champions — as the Red Sox are dominating everyone and are 10.5 games ahead of the Yanks heading into Friday.

What makes things worse is the likelihood of having to wait for Judge to rehab and work the rust off that wrist. We don’t even know how he’ll be when he returns. This is why I feel it’s best to trade for Jones.

Next. Yankees could use Curtis Granderson for the time being. dark

Besides, you can’t just rely on Stanton to save you. The more power sluggers that you have, the better chances you have of securing runs.
