Yankees: Would George Steinbrenner have already fired Aaron Boone?
After the Yankees mediocre start to the season, and Aaron Boone’s many blunders with the bullpen, which many once considered its greatest strength, I found myself asking what would Hal’s father have done?
I recently discovered that the St. Louis Post-Dispatch published a list of Yankees managers either hired or fired by ” The Boss.”

Would Hank and Hal’s daddy have pulled the plug on Aaron Boone already? My guess is YES — in a New York minute, but I highly doubt Boone would have ever been hired in the first place. I still haven’t fully figured out why he’s sitting there now.
Needless to point out, that George Steinbrenner had a significant impact on his Yankees’ teams. The question is what will be Hal’s legacy be? Is he too concerned about “the bottom line” and not paying close enough attention to the clubhouse?
Next: Greg Bird expects to be back sometime in May
One thing is for sure, the Yankees fate this year and for years to come hangs in the balance.
