Feb. 14 is a day reserved for sharing affection, gratitude, and thanks for the one you love. After you’ve done so, it’s OK to direct some of that goodness the Yankees way.

The other day I wrote an article about the way a pessimistic Yankees fan might look at the upcoming season and current plight of the team. Towards the end of it, though, I cautioned that I’d soon release a piece where I’d wax poetic on all the positive things that this club brings to table in 2017.

You see, there’s an awful lot to be boastful about if you’re a Yankees fan. Sure, I could go on and on about the beauty that is the makeup of the farm system, and how the pipeline to the majors is flowing with rich talent — but you already know that.

I could tell you about the millions the club is going to free up with the expiring contracts of CC Sabathia ($25M), Alex Rodriguez ($21.5M) and Tyler Clippard ($6M), but that’s something we can’t focus on until next offseason.

We could even look at the game-changing free agents that might want to take their talents to the Bronx soon enough — namely Manny Machado, Bryce Harper, Josh Donaldson, Matt Harvey, and Yu Darvish, and how management appears to be doing everything in their power to accommodate such moves — but let’s not put the cart before the horse.

What better day than Valentine’s Day to reflect on the joy being a Yankees fan has brought back into our lives. So sit back, relax, and enjoy a tale full of admiration and positivity.
