Well, after an exciting weekend of NFL Football that overshadowed the Yankees abysmal series against the Toronto Blue Jays, Week One of YGY Fantasy Football 2015 is officially in the books. We had broken headsets, one of the top wide receiver’s in the game go down with a broken foot, professional Quarter Back’s telling their own runnings backs not to score and the rookie sensation Marcus Mariota completely outshining his counterpart ‘Famous’ Jameis Winston.
Who’s team did this impact most? Who has the early bragging rights? Find out right here on YGY:
Current Standings:
1. Boston Loves The D: 1-0-0
2. Bye Bye Bird-E: 1-0-0
3. Cinco DeMarco: 1-0-0
4. Ricky’s Team: 1-0-0
5. Tickle Me Al-Mo: 0-1-0
6. Caleb’s Team: 0-1-0
7. Used to be dan: 0-1-0
8. Antonio’s Team: 0-1-0
Week One Matchup’s:Â
Boston Loves The D 138.22 v. Tickle Me Al-Mo 111.66
GM Scott Alfano had his boys play out of their minds, registering the highest point total of the week to get past the Tickle Me Al-Mo’s by the score of 138.22 to 111.66. As Yahoo put it into perspective;
"‘Even Pat Benatar would have been proud of how these two teams hit each other with their best shots.’"
Both sides played their hearts outs, but Boston Loves The D was too much to handle with Tom Brady and Julio Jones putting up more than 25 points each. Interestingly enough, the Tickle Me Al-Mo’s would have lost to just one other team besides Boston Loves The D this week, but that’s rather here nor there. Boston Loves The D (1-0) starts off the season in first place while Tickle Me Al-Mo (0-1) begins in fifth place.
Cinco DeMarco 106.42 v. Caleb’s Team 100.62
In what turned out to be the closest matchup of the week, staff rookie Harrison Marder and the Cinco DeMarco’s edged out Caleb and his team by the slightest of margins. Thanks to 22.6o points from Matt Forte and 18.62 point from ‘Matty Ice’ on Monday Night Football, Cinco DeMarco was able to erase a 26.82 point deficit to complete the comeback. In the end, it was Harrison and the boys who were sipping’ on some Forte’s to celebrate this victory.
Ricky’s Team 75.6 v. Antonio’s Team 59.74
Well, as you can tell by the final score of this one, the matchup was as underwhelming as the team names. Scoring was clearly at a premium for both squads, and thanks to phantom flying knee’s from Ndamukong Suh and 15.00 points from the Miami Dolphins Defense, Ricky’s Team came away from week one a perfect 1-0… valiantly…
Bye Bye Bird-E 132.14 v. Used to be dan 79.64
Matt Curran and the Bye Bye Bird-E’s clearly made a statement this week, crushing the Used to be dan’s by a whopping 52.5 points, earning this weeks Biggest Blowout Award. As a matter of fact, much of the media has been criticizing team owner Jason Evan’s as to whether or not his team even showed up this week! Thanks to a league leading 30.20 points and a career night for Ron Gronkowski to kick off the season on Thursday night, the Bye Bye Bird-E’s cruised to victory this week.
What to look for next week:
The Battle of the o-1’s!
Tickle Me-Almo and Caleb’s team are the only team’s meeting next week with identical 0-1 records. The early projections indicate that this should be a battle for the ages, as both teams are separated by less than one point. Interestingly enough, the Tickle Me Al-Mo’s will be starting the St.Louis Rams defense while Caleb will be starting the Seattle Seahawks, two teams that met for a grudge match in week one.
Will there be a repeat blowout?Â
Boston Loves the D, who accumulated the highest fantasy score this week will be meeting the Used to be dan’s, who were on the receiving end of the Biggest Blowout Award this week. I wonder if GM Scott Alfano will be rooting for his fantasy QB Tom Brady against his beloved Buffalo Bills this week?
On the flip side, the Bye Bye Bird-E’s, who were on the giving end of this weeks Biggest Blowout Award will be facing off against Antonio’s Team.. who recorded the lowest amount of points this week.
