New York Yankees News: Louisville Pitcher Signs With Yanks

The New York Yankees drafted Josh Rogers in the 11th round of this year’s MLB Draft. The left-handed pitcher originally opted to return to Louisville for his Junior, but instead has now chosen to go to the Yankees after a new deal was brought to him.

This coming just two days after his birthday, the 6’3 lefty will fly to Tampa Monday for a physical, and if he passes he will sign with the Yankees for a bonus far higher than what a usual 11th round value has.

He comes from a very strong pitching Louisville team in which he had a 3.36 ERA through 92 2/3 innings. Along with his 8-1 regular season record, he won two post-season outings while at Louisville, one in 2014 against Kentucky, and the next this past season over Michigan.

The potential of Rogers is very enticing to the Yankees, and being he was only going into his Junior year with that talent present already, he is a prospect to keep your eyes on throughout the system.
