The end of the second month of the season showed some big-time promotions along with players coming back from injuries and rehabbing in the minors. Let’s get to it.

AAA- Scranton Wilkes Barre

Hitter Of The Week- OF Ben Gamel

Ramon Flores was called up to the majors over the weekend, and if he hadn’t been on the 40-man roster and Gamel was, Gamel may have been the guy. Gamel continues to lead the International League in all sorts of offensive categories. Gamel had three mutli-hit games this week and added a stolen base to boot.

Honorable Mention- Cole Figueroa

When you drive in five runs in game, you’re going on this list. In Wednesday 9-6 win over Pawtucket, Figueroa went 5-5 with five RBI including two important insurance runs in the late innings to help preserve the victory.

Pitcher Of The Week- Bryan Mitchell

Everyone talks about when Luis Severino will come up to the majors, but maybe Mitchell should get the first shot if the Yankees need a starter. Mitchell shut down Norfolk on Friday night, with eight shutout innings allowing just two hits, walking one and striking out four.

Honorable Mention- Jaron Long

Profiled last week, Long continues to pitch well in AAA with his best start yet. Last Monday, Long went 7.2 shutout innings, giving up just three hits while walking three and striking out four.
