Minor Moves: Yankees Sign INF Figueroa, Re-Sign P Campos
By Billy Brost
In a couple of non-impact moves on Monday, the Yankees have signed free agent minor league infielder Cole Figueroa. The 27-year-old received a cup of coffee with the Tampa Bay Rays this past season, seeing action in 23 games. At Triple-A Durham this year, he hit .282 with 3 home runs and 33 runs driven in. Mark Tomkin of the Tampa Bay Times confirmed the signing via Twitter:

A second minor league move was announced as well, as right-hander Jose Campos as come to terms with the Yankees. He came to the Bombers along with Michael Pineda in the deal that sent Jesus Montero to the Seattle Mariners. Campos had been non-tendered late last month along with Slade Heathcott among others. Injuries have been the biggest detriment to the development of Campos, who didn’t pitch at all during 2014. During the 2013 season, he went 4-2, with an ERA of 3.41 in 19 starts for Single-A Charleston.
