Scottsdale Goes Down Again In Saturday AFL Action

Adam Morgan pitched well, but not well enough as the Scottsdale Scorpions fell yet again in Arizona Fall League action to the Glendale Desert Dogs on Saturday, by the final of 5-1. Morgan allowed only one earned run over four innings, but the star of the game was Chicago White Sox prospect Tim Anderson, who went 3-for-4, with a double, two runs scored and a run batted in. Anderson is continuing to work his way back from a broken wrist that cost him most of the 2014 season. Shawn Zaraga also had a pair of hits and two RBI for Glendale.

More from Yankees Minor Leagues

For the Baby Bombers, Aaron Judge, Gregory Bird, Tyler Austin, and Dante Bichette, Jr. were all in the starting lineup for Scottsdale, but Austin was carted off the field after suffering a collision while chasing down a foul ball in left field according to Dennis Waters.

Judge was the only one of the Yankees’ foursome to record a hit, while Bird, Austin, and Bichette all went hitless. Caleb Cotham was the only Yankees’ hurler to throw, and once again he got rocked, allowing four hits in one inning of work, along with two earned runs. While several of the Baby Bombers are having solid fall seasons, Cotham has not. Stay tuned to Yanks Go Yard for updates on Austin as more information becomes available.
