Scottsdale, with Yankee minor league talent on its roster, defeated Glendale 6-5 in last night’s Arizona Fall League action. Glendale had taken a 5-2 lead with 3 runs in the top of the 8th inning before Scottsdale rallied with a 4 run bottom half of the inning to take the lead in the game.

Yankee minor-league outfielder Aaron Judge had the key hit in the 8th inning for Scottsdale, a 2-run double to right that came after Tiger minor-league pitcher Chad Smith uncorked a wild pitch to move runners to 2nd and 3rd. Fellow Yankee Gregory Bird followed with an RBI single.

Judge, Bird and Dante Bichette, Jr. all finished the game with 1 hit each. Bird also added a walk. Alex Smith gave up 3 runs, but was rescued by the bats to pick up the win and Kyle Haynes grabbed the save with a hitless 9th inning.  Judge also nailed a runner trying to score in this game.
