Game Three

In the series finale, the Yankees send rookie Shane Greene to the bump, hoping for a better and longer outing than his previous appearance. Greene didn’t make it out of the third inning in the series opener against the Boston Red Sox, getting knocked around for 6 earned runs in 2 2/3 innings, allowing six hits, a couple of those being long balls. It was easily the worst outing of his short major league career. The Yankees need him to bounce back and give them some innings. He should be well rested and strong due to the short outing, which translated to nothing more than an over glorified bullpen session.

Youngster Yordano Ventura will complete the series for the Royals. The righty missed his a start with a sore back, but should be ready to roll in the series finale. His one start since returning from the back injury, he went 6 2/3 innings, allowing only 2 earned runs, striking out 7, to earn that 11th victory. He’s had a very solid campaign in 2014, posting an 11-9 record with an ERA of 3.38. Keeping the ball in the ball park will be the key to this game.
