Tampa Yankees (68-65) defeat Dunedin Blue Jays (75-57) 5-1

Tampa beat up on the first-place Blue Jays Sunday. The Yankees got off to a good start, scoring two runs in the first innings, and one in the second. They also tacked on some insurance runs late, adding one in the eighth and ninth innings. Aaron Judge led the charge for Tampa with two hits and two RBI. Mike Ford and Danny Oh also had two hits a piece. In six games with Tampa since his promotion, Ford is hitting .375 with a home run and four RBI. Brady Lail got the start for Tampa and was impressive. He went six strong innings, allowing five hits and just one earned run. He fanned two and walked two. Philip Walby, Kyle Haynes, and Caleb Cotham each pitched an inning of scoreless relief.

Monday is an off-day for Tampa. Caleb Smith (4-1, 4.45 ERA) is scheduled to make the start Tuesday, when the Yankees take on Clearwater Threshers, looking for their sixth straight win.  Mark Leiter (3-4, 4.91 ERA) is set to go for Clearwater. First pitch from George M. Steinbrenner Field is set for 7:00.
