TRIPLE A

Scranton/Wilkes-Barres RailRiders (58-64) lost to the Louisville Bats (60-63) 8-4.

The week started off on a sour note for the RailRiders. A day after snapping their five game losing streak, they found their way right back in the loss column against the Bats. Louisville struck first with three runs in the top of the second, but SWB quickly responded with three of their own in the bottom half of the inning. It wasn’t until a four run eighth that the RailRiders officially lost control of the game.

Matt Tracy started and after allowing four runs in his five innings fell to 1-6 on the season. He has not adjusted well since his promotion. Matt Daley was guilty of the four run eighth raising his ERA to 4.54 on the season. The RailRiders strung together ten hits on the night. Second baseman Rob Refsnyder and first baseman Kyle Roller, two players who deserve consideration next month for a roster spot, were most of the offense as they each blasted a home run. It was Roller’s 15th on the year and Refnsyder’s eighth. With Manny Banuelos recently promoted and Bryan Mitchell rejoining the team from the Bronx, the RailRiders rotation is a bit unsettled. That being said, no pitcher has been named for tomorrow’s start yet. Game time is 7:05 PM.
