Players to Watch

There are a few players to watch in the Yankees lineup today as they prepare to face Carrasco. After reaching an impressive milestone of taking sole possession of sixth place on MLB’s all time hit list, Derek Jeter will be talked about again, as he has put up impressive career numbers against the Indian’s starting pitcher. Jeter is 4-for-8.

Another player that just can’t seem to escape the spotlight is Brett Gardner” href=”http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/g/gardnbr01.shtml”>Brett Gardner. It seems like he puts up unbelievable numbers against the pitchers that the Yankees have faced lately. Gardner is 3-for-6 against Carrasco, and right fielder Ichiro Suzuki” href=”http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/s/suzukic01.shtml”>Ichiro Suzuki is as well.

One other player that has been quietly been putting on a show is Carlos Beltran. In his last 10 games, Beltran is hitting .333 with two home runs and 8 RBI. It really makes a difference in the lineup when Beltran can get it going.

Kuroda will have to be careful when he pitches to Michael Brantley” href=”http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/b/brantmi02.shtml”>Michael Brantley. In his career, Brantley is 3-for-9 against Kuroda, with one of those hits being a home run.
