The biggest key to the Yankees winning today, will obviously be the offense. At this stage in the year, the Yankees can’t afford to have what happened in Texas happen again, which is score a lot of runs one night, and then come out the next day and do nothing.

The Yankees have to ride that little wave of momentum from last night, and make sure it translates into something tonight. If the rest of the league can beat up on Buchholz, the Yankees should be able to as well. The biggest key of all though, will be the Yankees’ ability to hit with runners in scoring position. That has been a problem for the Yankees for the better part of the season. Yesterday, however, it wasn’t, and the Yankees will have to keep that going tonight. There are really no more excuses at this point.

David Phelps is obviously also a big key to the Yankees winning. If he can keep the Red Sox off balance, and trust his stuff, there’s no reason why he can’t go deep into the ballgame, and help deliver the Yankees a win.
