Keys To Yankees Victory

The Boston Red Sox have thrown in the towel for 2014. While they have upgraded their offense tremendously, it came at the expense of losing nearly all their starting pitching. The Yankees will be facing a brand new pitcher tonight and they need to attack him early. Fenway is an intimate park. Giving Anthony Ranaudo confidence in his first few innings may just bring the crowd to a heightened state of excitement. The Yankees need to throw a crooked number on the board in the first three innings, or they may be in for a long night.

Martin Prado will be available off the bench, and finding a key spot to insert him into the game will be in the back of Joe Girardi’s mind. Yankee newcomers have had a lot of success this season. Most recently, Chase Headley had a walk-off single in his Yankee debut. Between Drew and Prado, Girardi needs to let the magic take place again tonight.

Chris Capuano had a decent night in his Yankee debut and he needs to keep that going. Playing on his third team of the season, he should have a chip on his shoulder that he will be looking to eliminate, especially against his former team.
