The Baby Bombers had a rough day Tuesday, winning just one of six games played. Here’s how it played out.

TRIPLE A

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (53-57) lose to Gwinnett Braves (49-61) 6-5

Nik Turley started and went five-and-a-third innings, allowing three runs on six hits. He struck out two and walked two. Jose Pirela continued to hot for the RailRiders, going three-for-five with a triple and an RBI. His average now sits at .313. Matt Tracy will be on the hill Wednesday when the RailRiders host the Braves at 12:05.

Trenton Thunder (53-58) defeat New Britain Rock Cats (52-56) 4-1

Luis Severino was the story yet again for Trenton. He went five-and-two-thirds innings, without allowing an earned runs, and struck out seven. Severino surrendered just two hits. Jake Cave was two-for-five with an RBI for Trenton. Dan Camarena makes the 12:05 first pitch when the Thunder take on New Britain Wednesday.

Tampa Yankees (53-55) lose to Charlotte Stone Crabs (48-57) 5-4

Eric Jagielo hit his twelfth homer, andd Dante Bichette, Jr. tripled and drove in a run, but it wasn’t enough for Tampa. Caleb Smith started and went five innings, allowing four runs and striking out four. Brett Gerritse will make the 6:30 first pitch Wednesday when Tampa visits Charlotte.

Charleston RiverDogs (53-55) lose to Asheville Tourists (70-38) 10-8

Reymond Nunez homered and drove in three and Michael O’Neill had three RBI for the RiverDogs, but it was not enough. Andy Beresford and allowed just one earned run in five innings, but the bullpen let Charleston down.
