The Yankees lone standing starter Hiroki Kuroda took the mound tonight against the Orioles and put together a nice game going seven innings and only giving up two runs.  It wasn’t a completely spotless start as Kuruda hit two Orioles and also threw two wild pitches, one of which allowed Steve Pearce to score.

The Yankees two runs came from bombs from Brian Roberts who celebrated his return to Camden Yards after 13 years and two all-star seasons with the Orioles, It was his fifth of the season.  Kelly Johnson also connected for his 6th home run but the Yankees couldn’t muster up any more offense for the night after that.  Jeter , Ellsbury, and Teixeira all combined to go 1-14.

The Yankees came undone in the bottom of the tenth as Manny Machado started the inning off with a double.  Nick Hundley was the hero for Baltimore, when he singled in the game winning run off of Adam Warren.  Hundley got his hit after Dellin Batances had pitched 2 solid but somewhat wild innings after Kuruda left the game before the 8th.

On the Bright side Brian McCanns bat showed signs of life. He went 2-4 with 2 singles where he looked alot more balanced at the plate. The Yankees will play game two of the series again tomorrow at Camden Yards the pitchers will be Shane Greene for the Yanks (1-0 2.84 ERA) Vs Chris Tillman (7-4 4.11 ERA)
