It was a good day overall for the baby bombers. They went 5-1 down on the farm and top prospects like Peter O’brien went yard and had good production.  Here is a recap of the days action

TRIPLE-A

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (45-50) defeat the to Rochester Red Wings (53-43) 1-0 and 5-4

Adonis Garcia was the Hero in both games 1 and 2 scoring the game winning run in game 1 which ended 5-4.  top prospect Rob Refsnyder also blasted a 2 run homer to give the Railriders it was his 12th overall this year. In game two it was a pitchers dual. Jeremy Bleich and Joel De La Cruz combined to go 6 scoreless before Garcia blasted the walk off in the 7th. The Rail Riders will wrap up the series vs. the Red wings friday @ 7:05 the pitchers will be Jairo Heredia (0-0 10.61 ERA) VS Mark Hamburger (1-0, 1.13 ERA).

Trenton Thunder (43-50) Beat the Reading Fightin Phils (36-53) 5-1

Top slugging Prospect Peter O’brien who already has 3 home runs in the series had another blast today in the 3rd inning, it was his 19th of the year and Peter is now in 3rd place for homers in the ALL the minors! Zach Nuding continues to impress.  He tossed 7.2 innings and only gave up one run. Nuding is now 4-2 on the season with a 2.71 ERA. The Thunder will face the Akron Rubberducks Friday @ 7:05 Manny Banuelos 0-2 5.33 ERA will start for the Thunder.  The Rubberducks pitcher is TBA

Tampa Yankees (44-46) Clobbered the Clearwater Threshers (26-62) 11-2

Dante Bichette Jr, Yeicok Calderon, and Aaron Judge all homered as the Tampa Yankees ran through the Clearwater Threshers 11-0 and the pitching was just as impressive as Tampa combined for 10 strikeouts. Starter Rafael De Paula pitched 5 innings only giving up one earned run.  Tampa will Take on the Bradenton Marauders tomorrow, First Pitch will be 6:30 pm. It will be Brett Gerritse (3-3 4-13 ERA) vs Tyler Glasnow 4-4 2.08 ERA

Charleston RiverDogs (41-51) Lost to The Savannah Sand knats (60-28) 4-1

Eduardo de Oleo was the only bright spot for Charleston as bhit hit his team leading 10th homer against Savannah. Charleston bats were otherwise silent all night as they lost 4-1. Rookie Davis Pitched 5 innings and only gave up one run but it was already too late as Gabriel Encinas gave up the other three in just 2 innings before being pulled. The Riverdogs will take on Savannah again tomorrow at 7:05 sending Chaz hebert  to the mound (0-2, 4.10 ERA) against Robert Gsellman (7-3 2.81 ERA)

Staten Island Yankees (14-13) defeat the Lowell Spinners (12-15) 11-0

Just as Tampa did the Stanton Island Yankees also clubbed 3 home runs yesterday. They compiled 14 hits in an offensive rout of the spinners. Tyler McFarland continues to impress raising his average to .292 with 2 hits and one of the 3 homers the team hit on the day. Starting pitche Andy Beresford tossed 5 innngs of shut out ball to earn his first win.  Staton Island faces Lowell again tomorrow night @ 7:05 David Palladino (2-2 5.16 ERA) will face Jake Drehoff (0-1 5.24 ERA)
