It appears that the Yankees are cursed. Masahiro Tanaka went on the disabled list earlier today and now Carlos Beltran has been removed from the lineup after a batting practice pitch hit off the batting cage and rebounded to hit him below the eye. There is no word on whether or not he is DL bound.
Carlos Beltran scratched from Yankee lineup after getting hit in face by his own batted ball (off batting cage) during BP.

Derek Jeter will take over as the Designated Hitter for tonight’s game against the Cleveland Indians and Brendan Ryan will play shortstop. Second Baseman Brian Roberts will bat fifth. Oh yeah, Brandon McCarthy makes his Yankees debut tonight.
This is truly a disconcerting day for the Yankees as Brett Gardner is feeling abdominal pain and is out of the lineup.
The updated lineup reads as such:
DH Derek Jeter
SS Brendan Ryan
We will present more as it is reported and will keep you posted.
