The Yankees’ minor league affiliates had a good day Sunday. They won four of the five games played. There were no games for the rookie league teams.

TRIPLE-A

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (40-42) defeat Lehigh Valley IronPigs 6-5

Zoilo Almonte went 2-for-4, with a homer and 4 RBI for the RailRiders. Joel De La Cruz started, and gave up two runs in 2 2/3 innings, but the bullpen held it together, as four relievers combined for 6 1/3 innings, and three earned runs. Bruce Billings will make the start on Monday when the RailRiders take on the IronPigs again. First pitch is 7:05 p.m.

Trenton Thunder (38-45) defeat Erie SeaWolves (34-45) 4-1

Mason Williams and Ali Castillo each hit solo home runs for Trenton. Zach Nuding got the start and went 5 scoreless innings, striking out 5. Eric Wooten will be on the mound when the Thunder take on the Portland Sea Dogs Monday at 7:05 p.m.

Tampa Yankees (40-41) defeat Dunedin Blue Jays (49-31) 3-2

Aaron Judge hit his first homer for Tampa and Yeicok Calderon had two hits, and an RBI. Jaron Long had a solid outing, going 5 1/3 innings, yielding 1 run on 6 hits. He struck out 6. Tampa has an off-day Monday.

Charleston RiverDogs (36-45) lose to Kannapolis Intimidators (37-41) 7-3

Miguel Andujar hit his seventh homer, but it wasn’t enough for the RiverDogs, as Rookie Davis surrendered four runs in 2 2/3 innings. He struck out 4, and walked 4. Chaz Hebert will be on the hill Monday at 7:05 p.m. when the RiverDogs take on Kannapolis.

Staten Island Yankees (10-7) defeat Brooklyn Cyclones (11-6) 5-4

Ty McFarland went 2-for-5, with 3 RBI for Staten Island. David Palladino started and went 6 innings, allowing 4 runs (3 earned) and striking out 7. The Yankees are off Monday.
