Tuesday afternoon has been a busy one for the New York Yankees. Earlier, the Yankees’ PR department announced that infielder Scott Sizemore has been recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and as a result, the team has optioned outfielder Zoilo Almonte back down to the minors. Sizemore is expected to be in tonight’s lineup as the Yankees open a series with the visiting Oakland Athletics–ironically, Sizemore’s former team. The A’s currently have the best record in the American League, and should be a good test for the Yankees. Sizemore is hitting .308 in 13 plate appearances this season for the Yankees.

In a second move, the Yankees also claimed left-handed pitcher Wade LeBlanc off of waivers from the Los Angeles Angels as per MLB Trade Rumors.com.

LeBlanc appeared in one game this season for the Halos, allowing 4 earned runs, again, ironically, against tonight’s visitors, the Oakland A’s. He split 2013 between the Miami Marlins and the Houston Astros.
