The Yankees minor league system went a combined 2-2 in yesterday’s games. With a full schedule today, hopefully the RailRiders, Thunder, T-Yankees, and RiverDogs can go 4-0.

TRIPLE-A

Scranton Wilkes Barre RailRiders (9-9) defeated the Buffalo Bisons (9-8) 6-5

The RailRiders jumped out to an early 3-0 lead against the Bisons, and walked off in the 9th inning off a Zoilo Almonte double that scored Scott Sizemore from first. Every RailRider had at least one hit last night. Brian Gordon was the starting pitcher for Scranton, pitching 5.1 innings and giving up 5 runs, though only 2 were earned. Gordon’s ERA now stands at 2.57 for the season.

The RailRiders and the Bisons square off again today in the early 10:35 AM start. Alfredo Aceves will be making his second start of the season for the RailRiders. He received a no decision his last time out after pitching 5 shutout innings with 5 strikeouts.

SINGLE-A

Tampa Yankees (10-8) lose to the Brevard County Manatees (11-7) 2-1

The little Yankees lose a tough one last night despite the solid pitching of starter Rafael De Paula and the bullpen relief. The Yankees managed to get 7 hits on the board, but never enough together. The lone RBI was hit by Dante Bichette Junior, who went 1-3 on the day and is hitting .357 on the season. The team hit just .167 with runners in scoring position, leading to the 2-1 loss.

Today Dan Camarena will toe the rubber as the Yankees look to get their revenge against the Manatees. Camarena is 0-2 with a 4.50 ERA on the young season.
