2013 is becoming the same old song and dance from day to day for the New York Yankees. If they don’t go out and get an additional bat or two it may get to the point of no return. As we head into July, the Yankees finished June being swept by the Orioles, losing tonight by a score of 4-2 and extending their losing streak to five.

Manny Machado got the scoring going of Hiroki Kuroda by launching his sixth homer of the year as the  second batter for the O’s. The Yankees tied with a rally in the second. Zoilo Almonte singled. Three batters later, Chris Stewart singled and David Adams walked off Chris Tillman to load the bases. Brett Gardner walked to bring home Almonte. Ichiro Suzuki couldn’t continue the rally as he popped up to the end the inning.

The tie didn’t last long as the machine that is Chris Davis this year cranked out his 31st homer to left. Nate McLouth added his sixth homer of the year in the third to make it 3-1.

The Yankees cut it to 3-2 in the sixth when Robinson Cano hit his 17th homer of the year. The O’s added some insurance in the seventh. Matt Wieters singled and J.J. Hardy followed with a double to knock out Kuroda. Boone Logan came in and two batters into his outing gave up a sac fly to Brian Roberts.
