New York Yankees News & Notes 3/6: Recap, Lineup, Injuries

It’s been quite the eventful 24 hours around Yankees camp. Let’s take a look at some news and notes.

No Offense: The Yankees were held to just five hits as they fell to the Atlanta Braves last night 2-0. Brett Gardner had two of those hits. David Phelps looked good again giving up one run on two hits while striking out two in four innings.

Injury Update: Mark Texieira is on way to New York to see a wrist specialist. GM Brian Cashman is very concerned about this injury and it’s something to keep watch of over the next few days. David Robertson was scractched last night but is okay. He slept wrong on his shoulder. Mariano Rivera will pitch Saturday for the first time. Adonis Garcia broke his hamate bone in his wrist and will have surgery Thursday.

Grandy Man: Curtis Granderson was with the team yesterday. He’s excited to get back and play in centerfield. He’s going to have to go on a minor league rehab after he’s healed of possibly five or more games to get his timing back.
