After all the panic showed by some Yankees’ fans last week, the New York Yankees have been on a tear this week. They have now won their last five games, which included a sweep of the Oakland Athletics. The starting pitching is on its game, but more importantly, they are finally getting production out of their bats!

Mark Teixeira and Robinson Cano had some great power displays in Oakland that give some signs that the lineup is going to turn it around despite some clutch hitting problems in their 2-0 win on Sunday. Now, the Yankees pay a visit to the City of Angels to take on, well, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

The Halos have won six straight games which includes a weekend sweep of the Seattle Mariners. The big storyline with them is the hitting has returned to them. Albert Pujols is swinging like the machine he was in St. Louis after receiving A-Rod like treatment earlier in the year. Plus, their bullpen has been one of the best in baseball despite having no closer. With Memorial Day here, this is a big series for that second Wild card Spot with the Yankees three games up on LA. Could we see some separation or a tightening of the gap in this series?

For this podcast, I caught up with my great friend Tyler Brett from HaloHangout.com to discuss Albert Pujols vs. Mickey Hatcher, the emergence of Mike Trout, and their closer-by-committee led by Ernesto Frieri. This is a big series that should feel like a playoff series with three tightly close games. To find out our thoughts on the series and predictions, click on the podcast below!
