The Desert Dogs’ game on Tuesday was cancelled, so we’ll get right into Wednesday’s game.

Left-fielder Rob Segedin hit in the third spot and went 1-4 with a walk and a strikeout. Third baseman Ronnier Mustelier had a rare 0-4 day at the plate, but his average still stands at an impressive .360. The Desert Dogs sent five pitchers to the mound on Wednesday, and they combined for a shut-out while allowing 8 hits and 2 walks. Dan Burawa was the only Yankees prospect to pitch, and in his 0.2 innings he allowed 1 hit and 1 walk. Burawa faced four batters and threw a total of 19 pitches, 13 of which were strikes.

In today’s game against the Mesa Solar Sox, Rob Segedin was moved down to fifth in the order and went 2-5 with a double and a run scored. Second baseman Corban Joseph was 0-2, but he did draw two walks and scored a run. Chase Whitley pitched the 6th inning and allowed just one hit while striking out one and holding the Solar Sox scoreless. Whitley threw a total of 11 pitches (only 6 of which were strikes), but overall he was effective and efficient with the four batters he faced, and you can’t really argue with results.

The Desert Dogs will be back in action against the Scottsdale Scorpions tomorrow afternoon at 2:35 PM EST.
