The Desert Dogs played the Salt River Rafters Tuesday afternoon and lost 10-7.

Rob Segedin was the only Yankees position prospect in the game yesterday, and was in the DH role instead of his usual left field. He was 1-3 on the day with a double, a run scored, a walk, and a strikeout. The double was his third of the AFL season and his 7th extra-base hit of the season. Segedin has now scored 15 runs in the 21 AFL games he has played.

Chase Whitley was the only Yankees pitching prospect to take the mound, and he faced just one batter in the top of the 9th inning. Whitley needed only a single pitch to induce an inning ending ground out.

On Wednesday the Desert Dogs took on the Mesa Solar Sox and all three Yankees position prospects were back in the lineup.

Hot-hitting Ronnier Mustelier played third base and hit in the cleanup spot, going 1-4 with a run scored and a walk. His batting average fell below .400, but remains stellar at .390. Rob Segedin was back in a left field and went 1-3 with a walk and a strikeout. Corban Joseph was in the DH role instead of his usual second base, and went 1-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

None of the four Yankees pitching prospects were in the game, so look for some of them to take the mound tomorrow when the Desert Dogs face the Solar Sox in a rematch at 2:35 PM EST.
