There were a lot of Yankees prospects in action for the Desert Dogs on Tuesday, so let’s get right to it.

Left fielder Rob Segedin was back after a day off, going 0-4 with 2 BB and a run scored. Second baseman Corban Joseph continues to swing a hot bat – he was 3-6 with a run scored and an RBI. Unfortunately Joseph chalked up another 2 errors in the field, bringing his AFL total to 3.

Dan Burawa pitched the 4th and 5th innings. He allowed 1 hit, 2 BB, and struck out 3 while brining his AFL ERA down to 3.86. It took Burawa a lot of pitches, though – he threw 47 total, 26 of which were strikes. Preston Claiborne came into a tied game in the 10th, and struck out 2 but gave up the walk-off run, sinking the Desert Dogs 11-10.

In Wednesday’s game Segedin had a quiet day at the plate, going 1-4 with a strike out. Ronnier Mustelier was in the game at third base and went 2-4 with a double and run scored.

David Phelps started for the Desert Dogs, but got roughed up. He allowed 7 hits, 3 ER, 2 BB, 1 HR, and struck out 3 in 3.1 innings. He threw a total of 75 pitches on the day, 49 of which were strikes. Chase Whitley entered the game in the late innings and threw 2.1 innings of relief. He allowed just 2 hits, 0 runs, and struck out 2, needing just 31 pitches to get through 8 batters.
