An End to the 1st Half: Rays at Yankees Preview
By Ricky Keeler
Well, the first half of the baseball season will officially end Sunday and hopefully, a Yankee legend will finally get the milestone they have been waiting for him to get since the season began. This weekend, the Rays invade the Bronx for the first of a eleven game stretch that has them only facing the Yanks and the Boston Red Sox. New York finally lost their first series in seven games against the Indians, but they have a chance to gain positive momentum heading into the All-Star break!
Due to the series being a four game series, our time constraints made this podcast into two parts. Part One is about the pitching matchups as usual while Part 2 gives you guys info on the Rays as well as my take on the Quest for 3000.
Send in your comments to the podcast and also when you think Derek Jeter will get hit number 3000!
On the podcast, I discuss the following:
- Recap the Indians’ series
- Pitching Matchups
- Yankees’ inexperience vs. Hellickson
- Price is Right on the Road
- Big game James not so big in the Bronx
- Matt Joyce’s emergence
- The Rays’ inefficient bullpen
- Jeter’s 3000 hit quest
- When will Jeter get the hit?
- Series prediction
