Yanks dropping like flies

Although they got a 4-1 win over Baltimore on Monday night, the Yanks also suffered a couple of losses.

With Grandy already on the shelf and A-Rod “a little stiff,” Posada left the game in the sixth inning with tightness in his right calf and Mo wasn’t available in the ninth due to stiffness in his left side.

Ho. Ly. Shit. Please don’t wind up like the 2009 Mets, PLEASE DON’T WIND UP LIKE THE 2009 METS!!!!!!!!!

According to LoHud, though, if this were October Mo would have been out there. He said he played catch earlier in the day and didn’t feel good,  he just didn’t want to push it. Posada left the stadium and went for an MRI, which is probably not a good sign and is listed as day-to-day. However, RAB reports that he will not be able to catch until Friday at the earliest, which means Chad Moeller might get a call-up.

On the bright side, if you can even find one with this type of news, Randy Winn hit his first home run as a Yankee and Swish Dog went 3-for-3. Wow, Brett Gardner yesterday and Winn today. What’s next, Cervelli going yard tomorrow? I’ll take it.

Winn:

"When other guys are swinging the bat well, that’s the sign of a good team. We’re getting contributions up and down the lineup, and that’s what it takes to win and win consistently."

Winn on his three-run blast:

"It’s always nice when you can get in there and help the team win. When you’re not playing everyday you just try to do what you can; I’m not really a home run hitter but I was able to get one today and I was able to help the team."
