A-Rod to avoid another surgery

Kim Jones was on Mike Francesa’s show this afternoon and said that A-Rod probably won’t need follow-up surgery this offseason.

After examining the slugger during batting practice Friday, Dr. Marc J. Philippon (who performed the surgery on March 9) said he thought that A-Rod was at 95%, and he expects him to be at 100% by spring training.

That’s huge news for A-Rod because now he’ll have more time to plow Kate Hudson over the winter.

*************************

All kidding aside, A-Rod should have been in the conversation for the MVP. Not saying he should have won it, but he should’ve had his name thrown around in there more. I realize he admitted to using steroids just before the season started, and I know Mauer had an absurd year, and I can see how you could make the argument for Tex (if you think Jeet deserved it, you’re nuts), but after he returned from surgery the Yanks were the best team in baseball. He put up mind-boggling numbers after missing a month and he made Tex a lot better just with his presence alone.

As I said before, he probably didn’t deserve the MVP award but Alex Rodriguez was one of the most valuable players this season. If he can keep it up in the playoffs he could be a new player over the course of his career in pinstripes.
