CC Sabathia Shows Up In New York Yankees’ Victory Over Kansas City Royals

CC Sabathia gave New York Yankees fans an early Easter gift as he looked strong in a 6-1 victory over the Kansas City Royals. The big lefty went 7.2 innings, didn’t give up any runs or walks, and struck out six (Boxscore). A performance like this is what the Yankees gave him all that major dolo for and thank the baseball gods Sabathia seems to be off the Ed Whitson path of Yankeedom. But, let’s be honest, we didn’t really think CC was going to suck as bad as he did Opening Day, did we? OF COURSE NOT!

In any case, it’s good that Sabathia produced as well as he did against the Royals because if he didn’t, the interwebs and New York papers would have made it a crappy Easter for Sabathia and his supporters. However, seriously, it’s still early and the Yankees are on a three-game winning roll. Tomorrow, another pitcher that needs to prove himself because of high expectations, Joba Chamberlain takes the hill at 2:10 PM ET versus the Royals’ Gil Meche.

Oh, and a special note to some people named, oh, I don’t know, Cristen C. I am telling you and everyone else that Nick Swisher will be a fan favorite. BANK ON IT!

Current Record: 3-2
