New York Yankees News.  The New York Yankees led the Los Angeles Angels wire to to wire on a day that American Pharaoh did the same to win the Triple Crown. Adam Warren pitched brilliantly through six and two-thirds innings to show once again that he belongs in the starting rotation, leading the Yankees to an 8-2 victory.
The bottom of the first inning was a nightmare for Angels´starter Garrett Richards. The Yankees exploded for six runs. After Mark Teixeira nearly missed a grand slam, Brian McCann slammed a two run home run. Brett Gardner chipped in a clutch two out single to make it 6-0.
Richards and the Angels were distraught over what they viewed as a miniscule strike zone. But that didn´t seem to bother Warren, who cruised through the first three innings without allowing a base runner.
In the second, Teixeira , who has  tied his career high of 17 home runs through 55 team games, lined a single to left. McCann followed with a single that skipped down the right field line, sending Teixeira to third. Carlos Beltran then dumped a single into right to bring Teixeira home and increase the Yankees lead to 7-0.
The Angels finally scored in the fifth. Matt Joyce lined a double that screamed past the out stretched glove of Teixeira. Joyce came around to score on a pair of sacrifice flies to make it 7-1. The highlight of the inning was yet another spectacular, leaping catch by Ramon Flores. The final Angels run came on a Mike Trout home run in the sixth.
The Yankees loaded the bases in the eighth to bring up Teixeira for the second time in the game with the bases loaded. He walked to earn his second RBI of the game, increasing the Yankees lead to 8-2. Chris Young, who had entered the game as a defensive replacement for Beltran, grounded out to end the inning.
Chris Capuano shut the Angels down in the ninth. The Yankees have now won five straight games.Warren allowed two runs and four hits in his 6 2/3 innings to earn his fourth win of the season.
