On a day when Joe Torre got his number retired, a guy who would’ve fit right in with the core four era Yankees continued his hot streak. Martin Prado continued to produce with a pair of RBI, one night after delivering the game winning hit as the Yankees beat the White Sox 5-3.

The White Sox got the first run off Hiroki Kuroda in the second on back to back doubles by Conor Gillaspie and Alexei Ramirez. The Yanks tied it in the bottom half off Scott Carroll. Mark Teixeira led off with a walk. An error and a bunt single loaded the bases. Chase Headley grounded into a double play, but Tex scored.

In the fourth. Brian McCann doubled and Tex walked again. Carlos Beltran singled,  but Tex got thrown out. Prado answered with a two run double.

Jose Abreu would make it 3-2 in the fifth on an RBI single.

In the sixth, Beltran would add his 15th homer of the season. Prado reached on a double after the play was challenged and would score on Stephen Drew‘s sac fly.

The Sox would mount a little bit of a rally in the seventh off Shawn Kelley. Jordan Danks singled and Alejandro De Aza doubled. Carlos Sanchez grounded out, and after a walk, Dellin Betances would come in and lock it down.

The Yanks go for the sweep tomorrow afternoon at 1:05. They’ll have to do so against one of the best in the game in Chris Sale. The Yankees will have their Chris, Chris Capuano start.
